Construction timing | Construction will begin in April 2024 and is due to be completed by the end of July 2024 |
Overview |
Greater Wellington has identified a section of the Ruamāhanga River along River Road where erosion could put residential properties at risk. A rock groyne ( rock boulders) and a 150m rock revetment (rock wall) are being built as preventative measures to protect against erosion in this area. |
Note: Phase 1 of this project – construction of rock groynes along the former Masterton Landfill – was completed in June 2023.
